Know about Giraudpuri Dham

Located at the confluence of the Mahanadi and Jonk rivers, 40 km from Balodabazar and 80 km from Bilaspur, Giraudpuri Dham is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Chhattisgarh. This small village, which has deep ties of spirituality and historical interest, is the birthplace of the founder of Chhattisgarh’s Satnami sect, Guru Ghasidas. Born in a farmer family in this region, one day he became Guru Ghasidas, a much-revered figure in Chhattisgarh. Pilgrims flock here to worship him at the ‘seat’.

He is said to have meditated for a long time under the Aurdhaara tree which is still there. This holy place is also called Tapobhumi. Charan Kund is a sacred pond and the site of the annual Giraudpuri Mela. Another kilometer from here is located the ancient Amrit Kund, whose water is believed to be sweet.

2. Bhatapara, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Mahasamund railway stations are there to reach Giraudpuri Dham. After reaching here, Giraudpuri Dham can be reached by road.
3. Giraudpuri Dham can be reached by road from cities like Raipur, Mahasamund, Balodabazar, Bhatapara, Kasdol, Shibrinarayan, Bilaspur, Sarangarh, Basna etc.
